FAUGHATABOUT playing pot limit omaha
Today, I was playing on Fulltilt, and happened to have a QJ with a board
of 6 9 10 8 with two hearts. The flop bettor, bets 2 dollars into a 4.25 pot.
NOw, someone makes it 21 dollars all in. I of course, folded.
The river was the 3 of hearts, and the bettor had a set of sixes and now made the nut low. The raiser had a small flush, with a low and had previously had the same straight.
What a horrifying situation I would have been in, had I called: NO chance to get more than a half, IF it comes wiht a non low, non pair, non flush. Not too many cards even fit that ticket! And, about a gazillion cards to totallly kill me.
The only reason I even called the flop, was because they bet like .50, and I did have six clean outs for the nuts.
Now, I KNOW that some of you reading this, are thinking "oh, I can easily make that same fold.
But, CAN you? Sure, you've read what ATE has said about folding the nuts, in omaha.
But, unless you are TOTALLY well-versed in the mind set needed to play omaha, it's hard to do.
Well, just to give you something to t hink about.
For more on the subject, I suggest looking up my old article, NLTRN I think if you google that, you should be able to find it, hopefully
(nuts likely to remain nuts)
