Played at the Hollywood park the ot her day.


This guy was so horrible, he raised with hands like 88310, and bet his ten high flush, like it was THE HOLY CITY (note: This is an old lowball term, meaning basically the nuts)



So, when he popped it up to 6, ATE (holding A 3 4 6, suited) Decided to reraise. This actually , was not the best play, as even though I likely had WAY the better hand THAN HIM, there was still a full field behind me, and anyone with a better hand would NOT fold, and I would be in there with a hand that more often than not, is going to make a SECOND best hand.

ONLY, if I was in very late position, with everyone folding, would this have been the right move.

Not that it was HORRIBLE, but just not the best choice.


ATE fans, there is a lesson here: Allowing a sucker live one to ANGER you into making wrong p;lays, and forgetting that THEY are not the only ones at the t able.



Again, not that it was horrible.


So, anyway there are like 5 players, and the flop comes Q 7 2 rainbow, wit hONE of my ace suit.


Not the greatest, but certasinly worth a bet.

NO chance to get NOTHING (sorry for the double negative, really I am)
and a DECENT chance to get it ALL

or, like I mean, the lion's share. Heck, I'll settle for five EIGHTHS, really I would.


Someone bets, two callers ATE raises, the bettor goes all in making it 15.

This is half a bet, so it opens up the raising for ATE to make it 21

Two o ther's still have chips. Even though i'ts obvious that the all in has nut low, I still build up the side po t, and heck I DO have up to 13 outs

Ok, Ok, could be as low as 7 if someone has a set, and someone has a SIXTY NINE< DUDE!

But, WHAMMO here comes a 5, giving me a straight and nut low.

I sweep the side pot, which was like 36 bucks, and three quarter the main, which was like117

Nice.



Dang, why I EVER play hold em, is beyond me.


Well, hollywood park IS like three times the distance, and when yo're on the BUS,


not too much to learn here, but it was FUN

indeed nice story. still find myself reacting to bad players, forgetting about the rest of the table especially now i'm at the micros. think this is gonna be my point of attention for the next week, see if i can get it out.
